Rights and Permissions

If you have any questions concerning the usage or licensing of Ithicos Solutions copyrighted materials, for example, photographs, video footage, advertisements or other training materials, please submit your detailed request in writing. 

Marketing or advertising requests (which may include promotions/giveaways, sponsorship, product placement and partnership requests) may be emailed to info@ithicos.com.

For the use of Ithicos Solutions copyrighted or trademarked material in third party works (e.g., books, publications or media/broadcasts) please email your detailed request to info@ithicos.com and include the following:

• Specific image(s) or material for which you are seeking permission
• Surrounding copy or text to the Ithicos Solutions material you wish to use in your project
• Publisher, if applicable
• Publishing date (and countries), if applicable
• Title, if applicable
• How Ithicos Solutions and its products fit into your project

Guidelines for Using Ithicos Solutions Trademarks and Copyrights

These guidelines are for those wishing to use Ithicos Solutions' trademarks, service marks, or images. Use of the Ithicos Solution's company logotype or product logos for commercial purposes without the prior written consent of Ithicos Solutions may constitute trademark infringement and unfair competition in violation of federal and state laws. Use of Ithicos Solution's trademarks may be prohibited, unless expressly authorized.

If you are a licensee of an Ithicos Solutions trademark or logo and have been provided with special trademark usage guidelines with your license agreement, please follow those guidelines. If your license agreement does not provide usage guidelines, then follow these guidelines.

Ithicos Solutions' trademarks, service marks, trade names, and trade dress are assets. By following these guidelines, you help us protect the value of these trademark rights and strengthen our corporate and brand identities. By using an Ithicos Solutions trademark, in whole or in part, you are acknowledging that Ithicos Solutions is the sole owner of the trademark and promising that you will not interfere with Ithicos Solutions' rights in the trademark, including challenging Ithicos Solution's use, registration of, or application to register such trademark, alone or in combination with other words, anywhere in the world, and that you will not harm, misuse, or bring into disrepute any Ithicos Solutions trademark. The goodwill derived from using any part of an Ithicos Solutions trademark exclusively inures to the benefit of and belongs to Ithicos Solutions. Except for the limited right to use as expressly permitted under these guidelines, no other rights of any kind are granted hereunder, by implication or otherwise. Authorized Use of Ithicos Solutions Trademarks

1. Advertising, Promotional, and Sales Materials: Only Ithicos Solutions and its authorized resellers and licensees may use the Ithicos Solutions company logotype or product logos in advertising, promotional, and sales materials. Ithicos Solutions Authorized Resellers may use the Ithicos Solutions company logotype and product logos only as specified in their reseller agreement and such use must always be in conjunction with the appropriate terms that define the relationship authorized by their contract with Ithicos Solutions. For example:

• Authorized Value Added Reseller

2. Compatibility: Developers may use Ithicos Solutions, Directory Manager, Directory Search, Directory Update, or any other Ithicos Solutions word marks (but not the Ithicos Solutions company logotype, product logos, or other Ithicos Solutions-owned graphic symbols/logos) in a referential phrase on packaging or promotional/advertising materials to describe that the third party product is compatible with the referenced Ithicos Solutions product or technology, provided they comply with the following requirements.

1. The Ithicos Solutions word mark is not part of the product name.
2. The Ithicos Solutions word mark is used in a referential phrase such as “runs on,” “for use with,” “for,” or “compatible with.”
3. The Ithicos Solutions word mark appears less prominent than the product name.
4. The product is in fact compatible with, or otherwise works with, the referenced Ithicos Solutions product.
5. The reference to Ithicos Solutions does not create a sense of endorsement, sponsorship, or false association with Ithicos Solutions or Ithicos Solutions products or services.
6. The use does not show Ithicos Solutions or its products in a false or derogatory light.

3. Publications, Seminars, and Conferences: You may use an Ithicos Solutions word mark in connection with book titles, magazines, periodicals, seminars, or conferences provided you comply with the following requirements:

1. The use is referential and less prominent than the rest of the title. Acceptable: XYZ CONFERENCE for Ithicos Users
2. The use reflects favorably on both Ithicos Solutions and Ithicos Solution's products or technology.
3. Your name and logo appear more prominent than the Ithicos Solutions word mark on all printed materials related to the publication, seminar or conference.
4. The Ithicos Solutions logo or any other Ithicos Solutions-owned graphic symbol, logo, icon or image does not appear on or in the publication or on any materials related to the publication, seminar, or conference without express written permission from Ithicos Solutions.
5. A disclaimer of sponsorship, affiliation, or endorsement by Ithicos Solutions, similar to the following, is included on the publication and on all related printed materials: “(Title) is an independent (publication) and has not been authorized, sponsored, or otherwise approved by Ithicos Solutions”
6. A trademark attribution notice is included in the credit section giving notice of Ithicos Solution's ownership of its trademark(s). Please refer to the section below titled “Proper Trademark Notice and Attribution.”

4. Web Sites: Web sites that serve only as noncommercial electronic informational forums concerning an Ithicos Solutions product or technology may use the appropriate Ithicos Solutions word mark, provided such use complies with the guidelines set forth in Section 3 above.

5. Ithicos Solutions Web Badge Licensing Program: Web sites may use one of the Ithicos Solutions Web Badges if the company or website uses Ithicos Solutions-branded software and you comply with the terms of the Ithicos Solutions Web Badges License Agreement and Guidelines. For licensing information on the Ithicos Solutions Web Badges Licensing Program refer to Ithicos Solution's web site at www.ithicos.com/about/webbadges.

Unauthorized Use of Ithicos Solutions Trademarks

1. Company, Product, or Service Name: You may not use or register, in whole or in part, Ithicos Solutions, Directory Manager, Directory Search, Directory Update, or any other Ithicos Solutions trademark, including Ithicos Solutions-owned graphic symbols, logos, icons, or an alteration thereof, as or as part of a company name, trade name, product name, or service name except as specifically noted in these guidelines.

2. Ithicos Solutions Company Logotype, Product Logos and Ithicos Solutions-owned Graphic Symbols: You may not use the Ithicos Solutions company logotype, product logos, or any other Ithicos Solutions-owned graphic symbol, logo, or icon on or in connection with web sites, products, packaging, manuals, promotional/advertising materials, or for any other purpose except pursuant to an express written trademark license from Ithicos Solutions, such as a reseller agreement.

3. Variations, Takeoffs or Abbreviations: You may not use an image of a real Ithicos Solutions product screen or other variation of the Ithicos Solutions company logo or product logos for any purpose. Third parties cannot use a variation, phonetic equivalent, foreign language equivalent, takeoff, or abbreviation of an Ithicos Solutions trademark for any purpose. For example:

4. Disparaging Manner: You may not use an Ithicos Solutions trademark or any other Ithicos Solutions-owned graphic symbol, logo, or icon in a disparaging manner.

5. Endorsement or Sponsorship: You may not use Ithicos Solutions, Directory Manager, Directory Search, Directory Update, or any other Ithicos Solutions trademark, including Ithicos Solutions-owned graphic symbols/logos, or icons, in a manner that would imply Ithicos Solutions' affiliation with or endorsement, sponsorship, or support of a third party product or service.

6. Merchandise Items: You may not manufacture, sell or give-away merchandise items, such as T-shirts and mugs, bearing Ithicos Solutions, Directory Manager, Directory Search, Directory Update, or any other Ithicos Solutions trademark, including symbols, logos, or icons, except pursuant to an express written trademark license from Ithicos Solutions.

7. Ithicos Solutions' Trade Dress: You may not imitate the distinctive Ithicos Solutions packaging, web site design, logos, or typefaces.

8. Slogans and Taglines: You may not use or imitate an Ithicos Solutions slogan or tagline.

For example: “Keeping Your Directory Active” or "Active Integrity for Your Active Directory™"

9. Domain Names: You may not use an identical or virtually identical Ithicos Solutions trademark as a second level domain name.

Proper Trademark Notice and Attribution

1. Distribution Within the United States Only

1. On product, product documentation, or other product communications that will be distributed only in the United States, use the appropriate trademark symbol (TM, SM, ®) the first time the Ithicos Solutions trademark appears in the text of the advertisement, brochure, or other material.
2. Refer to the Ithicos Solutions Trademark List for the correct trademark symbol, spelling of the trademark, and generic term to use with the trademark. Generally, the symbol appears at the right shoulder of the trademark.
3. Include an attribution of Ithicos Solution's ownership of its trademarks within the credit notice section of your product, product documentation, or other product communication.

Depictions of Ithicos Solutions Products

1. Endorsement or Sponsorship: Ithicos Solutions does not support the use of its logos, company names, product names, or images of Ithicos Solutions products by other parties in marketing, promotional or advertising materials as their use may create the perception that Ithicos Solutions endorses or sponsors the product, service or promotion.

2. Compatibility: If you are a developer, you may show an image of an Ithicos Solutions product in your promotional/advertising materials to depict that your product is compatible with, or otherwise works with, the Ithicos Solutions product or technology, provided you comply with the following requirements:

1. Your product is in fact compatible with, or otherwise works with, the referenced Ithicos Solutions product.
2. The image is an actual photograph of the genuine Ithicos Solutions product and not an artist’s rendering (Note: You must obtain express written permission from Ithicos Solutions before using any photograph owned or licensed by Ithicos Solutions).
3. The Ithicos Solutions product is shown only in the best light, in a manner or context that reflects favorably on the Ithicos Solutions products and on Ithicos Solutions.
4. The reference to Ithicos Solutions does not create a sense of endorsement or sponsorship by, or other false association with, Ithicos Solutions or Ithicos Solutions products.

Ithicos Trademark List

The following is a list of Ithicos Solutions' trademarks and service marks.

When using the marks in publications that will be distributed only in the United States, include the appropriate TM, SM, or ® symbol on first use. For publications that will be distributed outside the United States, do not include trademark symbols. Instead use the appropriate trademark attribution notice, for example: Directory Update and Directory Search are trademarks of Ithicos Solutions, registered in the U.S. and other countries.

However, if a product or service name includes Ithicos Solutions, Ithicos, an Ithicos Solutions product name, or another Ithicos Solutions mark listed in this trademark list, do apply the correct trademark symbol (™ or ®) to that portion of the name for U.S. publications only. In addition, all Ithicos trademarks need to be given the correct attribution in the credit section of all U.S. and international publications.

Example:
